Holiday fashion…party in style

Friday evening was my husbands holiday business party. Although the word “party” hardly covers the gala style event they put on each year! It’s always a large affair around 5,000 people and takes two floors and multiple ballrooms downtown Detroit at The Marriott in the REN CEN.   I knew that I had to glam it up as most do for these functions, and I think that I did a pretty good job throwing together a few old things, and a few new things.  I wanted a little sparkle and shine and DIDN’T want to wear black as I always do.  I also knew that I didn’t have time to really go out and scour the stores trying to locate what I had in mind.   To the web I went and came up with the dress first.  Shoes next and added a few new bracelets and an old pair of gold dangle earrings and a large bauble necklace (it made its debut finally!)

Stella and dotStella and Dot Necklace (I’ve owned a while and not available anymore)

Christian Louboutin glitter peep toes…. (mine were by Nina, bronze glitter Kallie, and only $69.95)  Gotta love DSW!

Hoop earrings with lucite stone drop…(these are old and from Tori Spelling’s HSN line I believe)

Here’s how the final result looked…I wish I had a full shot with the shoes in the pic…but it was hard with three kids and two puppies running around.  The sitter shot this and we ran out the door! I wore my older faux fur mink coat and lace and bow gloves to finish it all off.  I love the fact that I got to wear some new things and some old things together, and also did it all in a budget savvy way.

ta ta for now and Happy Holidays!
